Barbara Ferencz is the founder of the former All Cats Downriver. Back in 2005, Barbara pulled together a team of animal rescuers to aid in helping animals at the Lincoln Park Pound. From that combined effort of many, a group of driven women formed Shelter to Home, Inc. and it has blossomed into the well-established group it is today. Mrs. Ferencz lives in Allen Park with her husband, their Mastiff and three cats. She currently serves Shelter to Home, Inc. as a foster and as a liaison with Downriver pounds and local government officials.

Kim Harbin is one of our very special foster parents, as she fosters cats with special needs and gives them all of the love an special attention that they require. When she's not spending time with the cats, Kim is teaching Art classes in a local Elementary School. Kim, with her knack for creativity, also considers herself an "obsessed quilter". Kim is easily recognized by her huge smile (that never disappears!) and her enthusiastic, positive attitude.

Darrell and Helen Smith serve Shelter to Home as canine foster parents. Darrell and Helen are both enthusiasts of the Pit Bull Terrier breed and are very well-educated and knowledgeable about the needs, care and dispositions of bully breed dogs. Darrell is retired from the automotive industry and Helen is a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. They are also proud new grandparents of a baby boy.

Lauren is a high school student whose love for animals has brought her to Shelter to Home, Inc.  A talented artist, Lauren has performed face-painting at events to help raise much needed funds for the animals.  She also enjoys working directly with the kittens and cats.  Lauren has two kitties, Schmegal and Tabitha, at home.  Shelter to Home, Inc. is very lucky to have a fine young lady giving up  her time to the rescue!

Madeline is the youngest volunteer for Shelter to Home, Inc.  Supported by her mom Karen, Madeline takes great care of her foster cats and kitties.  She specializes in the rehabilitation of very young kittens who have no mom when they are rescued from the pound.  She instinctively is able to give them the love and nurturing that they so need, not to mention all the play time young kittens crave.  Madeline even follows through with the adopters of her felines by providing them with a picture checklist of items that her kitties will need in their future homes.

MacKenzie and Morgan Parrent are our pint-sized volunteers who do more than pint-sized work. The girls, who are twins, assist with collecting donations at our event donation tables, help us train foster dogs, give   lots of love and TLC to the cats. They have two older sisters, and older brother, and a rescued kitty named "Bulls-Eye"!
