Shelter to Home, Inc. is 100% run by volunteers.  None of our board members, foster homes, or other volunteers are paid.  Since we have no paid employees, 100% of your donations go directly to helping the animals.

Shelley serves as the President of Shelter to Home, Inc. Shelley graduated from the University of Michigan with bachelor and master’s degree in Education. During regular business hours, Ms. “Bay” is a middle school P.E. teacher. In her time outside of school, she tends to the needs of her pet birds, foster animals and group members.  Shelley brings a refreshing level of enthusiasm and energy to Shelter to Home, Inc.  Her favorite part of rescuing animals is watching them go into their new homes and be loved for the rest of their lives.

Lori Wend serves as the Treasurer of Shelter to Home, Inc.  She continues to wow the group with her dual role as our Webmaster. During regular business hours Lori is a Behavior Specialist. In addition, Lori has worked with another non-profit group in the past.. In her time outside of school, she tends to the needs of her foster animals and all of the groups continual needs for checks and balances to our budget.  Lori is married and is the proud mom of two daughters. She brings to our group enthusiasm and motivation. Her favorite part of rescue is the reward of homeless animals finding permanent loving homes.

Kalin serves as the Director of Shelter to Home, Inc. She graduated from Madonna University with a bachelor’s degree in Gerontology and Sociology. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Business Project Management. During regular business hours, Kalin is self-employed as a perennial garden designer. After hours she is caring for her foster animals and in addition, works to help the group stay organized and running as a cohesive team. She loves getting her hands dirty, interacting with adopters, and being able to show others the joy that comes with rescuing animals.

Rhonda serves as Vice President of Shelter to Home, Inc and brings a vast amount of fostering experience to Shelter to Home, Inc. in addition to two wonderful children who also volunteer with the group, Sara and Daren. During the day, Rhonda works in retail, and in the afternoons and evenings she works to help Shelter to Home, Inc. run as a cohesive team along with caring for her foster kittens. Rhonda enjoys spending time with her children, camping and watching NASCAR. Shelter to Home, Inc. is very fortunate to have Rhonda as part of the rescue team; her experience and enthusiasm for animal rescue is phenomenal.

Jessica volunteers with Shelter to Home, Inc. as a foster parent and is coordinator for the Shelter to Home, Inc. Habitat at the Canton Petsmart store. Outside of the rescue, Jessica works as an Executive Assistant for a local Realtor.  In addition, she is finishing up her degree at U of M Dearborn and is also a full-time vegetarian and animal rights activist. Jessica lives with her puppy, Chandler and cat, Romeo
